Special fertilizers
Until recently, the use of fat mixtures with different ratios of N:P:K was common for every farmer. The so-called mixture consisted of various mineral fertilizers containing one nutrient each (simple superphosphate – P, potassium chloride - K, ammonium sulfate - N). At that time, they had a great advantage over complex mineral fertilizers, as it was possible to form a different ratio of the main nutrients, according to the needs of the culture. However, complex mineral fertilizers were represented only by nitroammophos 15:15:15 and 16:16:16, which was not always the best option for a certain agricultural crop, taking into account the agrochemical analysis of the soil.
The main disadvantage of the so-called mixed simple fertilizers was that each mineral fertilizer, which was used for mechanical mixing of fat mixtures, has granules of different size and shape, and when applied, this leads to uneven application by the spreader and planter. To date, even not all modern planters are able to apply fat mixtures during sowing, as they require uniformity of granules in terms of their shape and size. Therefore, complex mineral fertilizers with different ratios of N:P:K became the solution to these problems.
Complex mineral fertilizers are fertilizers containing two or more basic nutrients (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium). They are the ones that have advantages over simple fertilizers that contain only one nutrient or fat mixtures, since all elements are contained together in one granule, and not separately in each fertilizer. Therefore, today, manufacturers offer complex mineral fertilizers with different percentages, which allow you to apply the ratio of nutrients required by the culture, taking into account their indicators contained in the soil. For example, these can be P:K ratios (MAKOSH 18+ B, Zn), N:P (Monoammonium phosphate MAP 11-52, Diammonium phosphate DAP 18-46) and NPK (MAKOSH UNIVERSAL Z BOREM, POLIFOSKA 6).
Complex mineral fertilizers are used for local application simultaneously with the sowing of agricultural crops. Their shape and the uniformity of the granules in the fertilizer are ideal for application by the seeder. The so-called starter fertilizer is quite important, as crop seedlings must be provided with all essential nutrients at the initial stages of growth and development in order to fully develop and resist negative environmental factors. The use of complex fertilizers can reduce the costs of their application, transportation and storage, since all the necessary nutrients are contained in one fertilizer.
